Strengthening 55 Churches in Karurumo!

I asked a local leader, “What does Karurumo mean?” and he replied, “A lion’s little roar!”  What a great name! In this town in rural Kenya we were able to train pastors and church leaders from about 55 churches as well as many additional people who came to hear training from the Scriptures.

We had about 100 pastors and leaders who were eager to receive training on how to understand the Scriptures and lead their churches. We are honored to serve them.

Before we left the USA to begin our journey of training we asked our local host to please tell us what the churches needed to hear. He asked us to train on discipleship. So, we wrote curriculum to focus on discipleship that could be taught in a few days (long days!) providing in-depth teaching on how to be a disciple of Jesus. Additionally, we were honored to offer specialized sessions designed individually for both men and women, addressing the unique roles and challenges within their homes and the church community. Laurie taught the women inside the church building and I taught the men outside under a big tent!

Please join us in praying for these churches in rural Kenya. The churches are located far from any Bible College or seminary and the leaders earnestly want to understand the Scriptures so they can serve their people well and build up the churches of Karurumo (little roar!)
