Ugandan Pastor Training
It is always nice to be welcomed back! Last January we had a wonderful time providing training to several hundred pastors and church leaders from villages in Busia, Uganda. Recently, their leaders let us know that they were ready to go deeper!
What an honor it was to serve these leaders and their churches! But, we wanted to know – how was the training received? We believe in transformational training – did the Bible training make a difference in the lives of the leaders and in their churches?
In a debrief with the committee of pastors who had invited us they said, “We’ve learned so much!” and “Please come back soon!” After we returned home, the pastors sent messages telling us about people coming to faith and about the growth of their churches. How encouraging for us!
We asked what they needed for continued training for themselves and their churches. They requested that we guide them in how to apply more of what they had learned and in how to make plans to implement these new concepts into their churches. To address these desires to grow deeper, we planned a two-day follow-up gathering in August for 45 of the lead village pastors in Busia. We developed curriculum, short videos, and questions to facilitate discussion among the pastors and leaders. The two days of training also included guided time for planning action steps for their personal spiritual growth and for leadership of their churches.
Thank the Lord for faithful partners in ministry! The Lord provided through some of our dear friends who are well-trained Ugandan leaders from Kampala. They traveled to rural Uganda and spent two days facilitating the discussions. We are honored to work as a team with local leaders! We are so grateful to be able to provide training through videos and curriculum development even when we aren’t able to attend in person.
The feedback on the August training was enthusiastic, and the committee has asked us to come for another conference in January 2025 to build more on what they’ve learned!
We are looking forward to being with these pastors and leaders again! It is always nice to be welcomed back!
