Laurie & I will be in Izmir, Turkey, in a few weeks. We will be collaborating with over 500 others from 300 organizations to brainstorm and plan ways to get Biblical and theological education to places where it is most needed. I will be in a track focused on training pastors, and Laurie will be working with a group exploring ways to more effectively reach and train younger church leaders. We are attending the interactive conference hosted by the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education (ICETE). ICETE provides accreditation and support for evangelical seminaries around the world. We will be working with representatives from seminaries and non-formal training organizations to find ways to creatively supply more churches and global leaders with Biblical and theological education.
A couple of weeks later I will head to Malaysia for another gathering – this time focused specifically on theological education and discipleship materials to support churches and church leaders in Asia. This Malaysian conference is hosted by Increase Association. The purpose of Increase is to connect and strengthen church-based training movements across Asia and beyond. We will be discussing ways to support new initiatives for meeting more Asian church training needs.
Please pray for us and for these gatherings. May God bless our work and make it fruitful for the sake of the Kingdom and global Body of Christ!
