Training for Women and Men

Addressing the Unique Needs of Each Gender

When time allows, we like to divide men and women into separate groups for some of the training. This gives us opportunities to look at Scriptures that specifically address men and women. We lead discussions about what it might look like for them to faithfully apply those Scriptures in their context – in the home, the church, and the marketplace. Additionally, separated training gives them opportunities to practice new skills, discuss issues, and ask questions that they are more comfortable addressing in a same-gender group.

On a recent trip to Uganda, the men and women had opportunities to pair up and practice sharing the Gospel. Both groups also held discussions related to living faithfully in their homes as husbands and wives. It was powerful to listen to the older women exhorting the younger women to love their husbands and children well. And it was encouraging to hear older men challenging younger men to be like Jesus as they lead their churches and families – living as servant leaders rather than using their power and authority in harmful or selfish ways.

The Body of Christ is healthiest and most impactful when all its parts are working together to advance the Kingdom. We are excited about the ways we see God gifting and equipping men and women to advance His Kingdom and build His church.
